Vine, tree bark, resin
n Restoration, resin-drenched tree bark is draped over dried vine in a cascading interpretation of the Mandarin character 合. Loosely translated to "coming together," this sculpture's teardrop form is meant to encourage a re-unification of communities that have become polarized due to the contemporary socio-political climate. Inspired by the Bible verse John 11:36, "Jesus Wept." The teardrop shape of the sculpture is also meant to represent Jesus's tears at the divisiveness so common in the world.
